Joanne – Managing Director
I take ultimate responsibility for everything that happens at Omer & Company, from business development to client care. I go out to meet new and existing clients, organise seminars and education sessions, and run networking and mastermind events.
I left school at 18 and went straight into an accountancy practice as an office junior. I moved up the ranks, moved to a different firm five years later and then eventually went out on my own. I am now a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians. The best thing about being in this industry is meeting other business owners, learning about their journey, and becoming a part of their business’s success. As a result, I’ve taken the responsibility involved in acquiring a retiring practitioner’s practice extremely seriously, especially since Omer & Company has been a fixture in the local community since 1985.
My accountancy practice takes up the majority of my time, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. There are so many crossovers between business and personal life and many of the people I know through networking and various industry events have become firm friends as well. I’m very staff focused so I am always available for my team, whether they want to talk about business or chat over a cup of tea.
Jenny – Practice Manager at Eltham Practice
My role is very broad, covering a number of key responsibilities – managing the team, supporting and training staff, meeting new clients, and overseeing a wide client portfolio. This involves a lot of interaction with clients and staff which I love, particularly when I have the opportunity to learn how clients operate and can assist them by adding value to their business.
I have worked in accountancy since 2008, having qualified with the Association of Accounting Technicians in 2013. I joined Omer & Company in 2017 when I qualified with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and every day since has varied according to client expectations, deadlines and staff requirements.
I live locally to our office and love to spend time with my family and friends outside of work. I also enjoy travelling whenever I possibly can.
Spencer – Senior Client Manager at Eltham Practice
My main duties focus on preparing limited company accounts, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns. A typical day in my role involves analysing paperwork and records from our clients and piecing things together so they make sense. I am an analytical person who likes solving problems and I find that my background in computing has been hugely beneficial. Technology is such a key part of the industry nowadays.
I have a Computer Science degree and used to work as an IT developer, making the move into accountancy in 2009 when I first joined Omer & Company. I worked part time whilst I was studying for my qualification and I am a now a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The best thing about the job is the people. My colleagues are a lovely bunch who make going to work enjoyable. Plus, because our clients are so friendly and have varied businesses, every day is interesting.
I live in Orpington with my wife and two children. My kids take up most of my time, but I practice tai chi and qi gong which help keep me grounded.
Nicola – Client Manager at Eltham Practice
I take care of clients’ end of year accounts, VAT returns and self-assessments. It’s my job to deal with all my clients’ accounting needs so they don’t have to worry. I am AAT qualified, and am looking to pursue additional Association of Taxation Technicians and Chartered Tax Advisor qualifications.
I entered the accountancy industry by chance, but I’ve found my organisation skills and approachability have perfectly suited my role. I have been working for Omer & Company since 2017 and particularly enjoy working closely with clients – receiving positive feedback makes everything worthwhile!
I live in Dartford, and when I am not working you will find me shopping, travelling, or socialising with friends and family.
Sian – Client Manager at Eltham Practice

Having started my career in accountancy whilst working as a bookkeeper for a car dealership, I qualified with the International Association of Bookkeepers before completing an additional qualification for the Association of Accounting Technicians. I’ve worked at Omer & Company since 2005 and am fortunate to have built long-standing relationships with my clients and to have watched them grow alongside the company.
Outside of work, you can normally find me and my children at a theme park. As a self-confessed adrenaline junkie, I used to rock climb for a living before settling into accountancy!
Melisa – Client Manager at Eltham Practice

I have always wanted to be an accountant, as I feel I possess the skills and methodical approach that are necessary to succeed. I am qualified with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and have been working for Omer & Company since 2020. I find my role to be extremely rewarding – helping clients and meeting new people are my favourite parts of the job.
I live in Welling, and outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, going for walks, and reading.
Barbara – Bookkeeper & Admin Assistant at Eltham Practice
I mainly carry out self-assessment tax returns, as well as taking responsibility for one of our client’s bookkeeping. Where required, I also help out with a range of administrative tasks, including tidying up paperwork and documentation. I’m an organised and methodical person – I like detail and structure, and these are aspects which are crucial to my role.
I previously worked in IT and then in general admin. When one of my colleagues was planning to leave the company where we worked, she recommended that I enrol on a bookkeeping course and take over her role. Once I got started, I became hooked! I joined Omer & Company in 2019 and have since obtained my AAT Level 3 qualification. I am now working towards my Level 4 qualification.
I live in Dagenham, and in my spare time I listen to lots of audiobooks and podcasts – these are particularly good during the commute into the office. I love to watch drama series, write, travel, and spend time with friends.
Marie – Bookkeeper at Eltham Practice

I began working in the industry due to a recommendation from a friend and have been part of the Omer & Company team since 2021. I particularly enjoy the working environment here and the lovely people that I get to work with.
I live in Beckenham, and in my spare time I enjoy football and Netflix.

I previously worked part-time for a small housing association where I began processing tenants’ rent and benefit payments, accounts payable, and took over payroll duties too. I then attended a payroll course at college and decided to move fully into this industry. I joined Omer & Company in 2014 and have never looked back!
I live locally, and outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
Annie – Client Manager at Wallington Practice
As Client Manager, my main duties include preparing accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. Customer care is very important to me and I make sure people receive a response within 24 hours. When a client tells me that they feel better after talking to me, this is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.
I have a National Certificate in Business Studies and am qualified with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. I have worked in accountancy for 32 years, gaining valuable experience working for various companies. I enjoy working here in particular because of my lovely colleagues. We are all busy people, but we always make time for a catch up. We’re in good company as accountants – did you know that Mick Jagger, Robert Plant, from Led Zeppelin, and comedian Eddie Izzard were all accountants before their showbiz careers took off? Personally, I’ve put my showbiz career on hold and I’m going to stick to accountancy…
Out of the office I love reading, cooking and music. I regularly go to festivals and concerts. I spend plenty of time walking my dog and also enjoy a Zumba class when I have the energy! I also visit art galleries and museums in London and take trips to National Trust gardens in the countryside.

My role involves ensuring clients receive the best service possible, and giving staff the support they need to deliver this excellent service. During a day working here, I usually manage to enjoy my first cup of tea in peace, then it all starts to get busier as the phone starts to ring……
I am registered with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, but I’d say my most important qualification is my 30 years of experience. I began accounting life as a trainee accountant, back in the days when computers were a rarity, and worked there for seven years. I have worked in a range of positions since, dealing with corporate clients as well as individuals. I enjoy working at here because I work with good people, both my colleagues and my clients. We’ve got a great team here.
When I’m not sitting at my desk I like to keep active. When injury cut short my rugby-playing days I trained as a SCUBA-diving instructor, and after diving for many years I now enjoy walking as a pastime. See the trend of slowing with age?!
Alison – Bookkeeper & Administrator at Wallington Practice
I left college with The London Chamber of Commerce Private Secretary’s qualification. My first job was in the accounts department of a local Dairy in Shropshire. Five years later I moved to London and have never looked back. In the past 30 years I have worked in varying roles, mainly in banking & finance, raised a family and spent 3 years travelling & working abroad.
I joined in January 2021 and my main aim is to ensure our clients get the best service possible. I enjoy organising and bookkeeping and am fortunate enough to do a bit of both in my current role. My team are brilliant, they work hard and there is always plenty of friendly banter in the office.

Natasha – Bookkeeper at Wallington Practice
My normal day starts with calls, emails, clients and of course COFFEE…. !
I always look forward to enhancing my skills and learning new things. I enjoy dealing with clients and solving their problems, as it gives me immense satisfaction when clients are happy with my work and efforts.
I prefer to complete my tasks everyday rather than keeping it for the next day, ensuring VAT returns are accurately completed in a timely manner. It has been said I am workaholic…but when not at work, I like spending my time with my family and watching movies.
Deborah – Payroll Manager & Accountant at Wallington Practice

Due to my roles, I have quite a bit of client interaction and it is nice to get to know them and build on our client relationships.
I have been working here since 2016, so I know many of the clients well. I studied accountancy and was blessed enough to get a job in this field straight away. I usually need things to be perfect and done right, so I feel it is a good skill for my job, even if it may annoy others ….like my constant singing in the office!
Outside of work, I like to catch up with my friends and can’t go a day without listening to music.

Outside of work I am a very busy mum as I have two kids. My daughter does Latin & Ballroom dancing and my son loves Go-Karting. When I get a little spare time, I like to meet with my friends.
Tom – Practice Manager at Wallington Practice
I am primarily responsible for running the Wallington Practice, whilst supporting the rest of the Omer and Bells businesses where needed. I am a qualified Chartered Accountant and have worked in practice since graduating from University. I have always worked in general practice and therefore have gained great experience across all aspects of Audit, Accountancy and Tax.
The most rewarding part of working in practice is the opportunity to work with many different types of clients across various industries, which means you are always learning. I particularly enjoy working closely with clients in their early stages of business, and through providing quarterly support, watching them grow and succeed.
